Canine Distemper Virus CDV Antigen Test Kit

Canine Distemper (CDV) & Canine Parvovirus Virus(CPV) Antigen Test

Rapid Test for the presence of CDV & CPV in canine canine feces.

PRINCIPLE

This rapid test strip is based on sandwichmethod to test the CDV / CPV in canine nasal drops, saliva, conjunctival secretions, serum / faeces. When add the sample into the sample hole, the CDV / CPV in the sample will combined with the specific monoclonal antibody labeled by colloidal gold, and inhibit the antibody combing with the CDV BSA / CPV BSA in the TEST line in the NC membrane. This leads the color intensity of the test line and control line to be different. C line shows the strip is valid, T line shows there are CDV / CPV in the sample.

APPLICATIONS

The PetPal CDV&CPV is a rapid test that qualitatively detect the presence of CDV in canine nasal drops, saliva, conjunctival secretions, serum and CPV in faeces.

CONTENTS

l 10 Test Cassette

l 10 Sample diluents

l 10 Droppers

l 1 Kit Insert

SPECIMEN PREPARATION

1. Sample preparation for CDV

1.1 Nasal drops, saliva and conjunctival secretions

Take nasal drops, saliva or conjunctival secretions with cotton bud, insert it into sample tube with sample diluents and mix for 1 minute.

1.2 Serum and urine

Use the dropper to add serum or urine sample 4-5 drops (about 100μl) into tube with diluents and mix for 1 minute.

REMARKS: In the initial stage of CDV, it is accurate to test serum sample; when clinical symptom appears, it is convenient to test nasal drops, saliva, conjunctival secretions and urine

2. Sample preparation for CPV

Use cotton swab to take some canine feces into a tube with sample diluents to dissolve the canine feces for 1 minute.

TEST PROCEDURE

1.   Use the dropper to take prepared supernatant; Add 3 drops (about 60μl) into the corresponding sample orifice.

2.   Wait for 5-10minutes in the room temperature (20- 25 ℃) to judge the result.

REMARKS: The result over 30 minutes is invalid.

RESULTS JUDGEMENT

POSTIVE (+): C line and T line are both red, which means that there is possible CDV and CPV antigen in the sample. It needs to be analyzed combining with clinical method.

NEGATIVE (-)C line is red; T lines are invisible which means that there is no CDV or CPV antigen in the sample. If CDV or CPV acute symptom appears, it cannot be eliminated that CDV and CPV infection happens.

INVALID: C line is invisible. Control(C) line is used as a quality indicator, which will always appear regardless of the T line. If Control line does NOT appear, it indicates that the result is invalid. Users should check the kit insert again and re-do the assay with new test strips.

REMARKS: Generally CDV and CPV vaccine is a kind of Attenuated vaccine. Hence it can be false positive during 3-10 days after vaccination. Animal treated by Monoclonal antibody may show false positive for a long time, because of the secondar antibodies in animal.
